Foreign Languages & Literatures:  Honors Program

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers three Honors levels in Spanish and in French and Francophone Studies. 

To remain in the Honors Program, students must:

Maintain at least a “B” average in Honors work AND

Complete the following nine semester hours: 
   · FLL 2510 Sophomore Honors Seminar in Literature in Translation &
   · FRE 3510 OR SNH 3510 (Junior Seminar in French or Spanish) &
   · FRE 4510 OR SNH 4510 (Senior Honors Thesis in French or Spanish).
 

For “Highest Honors" in French and Francophone Studies or “Highest Honors" in Spanish, a grade of “A” or better in above courses and GPA of 3.85 or better is required in all FRE or SNH coursework.

For “High Honors" in French and Francophone Studies or “High Honors" in Spanish, a grade of “A” or better in above courses and GPA of 3.65 or better is required in all FRE or SNH coursework.

For “Honors" in French and Francophone Studies or “Honors" in Spanish, a grade of “B” or better in the above courses and GPA of 3.45 or better is required in all FRE or SNH coursework.
